A Day in HELSINKI II - Kiitos, kun olet lähtenyt mukaan! Tervetuloa taas seuraavalla kerralla!
Tarkoituksena on kuvata vanhan kinokameran filmirullallisen verran eli 24 kuvaa Helsingistä. Voit kuvata Helsinkiä yleisesti tai seurata ehdotettua 24 aihetta, eli ottaa yhden kuvan / aihe. Kiasman aukiolta jokainen suuntaa yksin tai haluamassaan porukassa minne päin tahansa Helsinkiä kuvaamaan. Tarkoituksena on löytää mielenkiintoisia yksityiskohtia tai näkymiä Helsin-
gistä ja vangita kaupungin tunnelmaa. Kuvilla voi välittää muille sitä, mikä itselle on tärkeää Helsingissä ja tuoda esiin paikkoja tai asioita, jotka kokee merkityksellisiksi. Fotomaratonilla voi viihtyä niin kauan kuin haluaa.
Kuvauksen jälkeen osallistujat lähettävät 24 kuvaansa sähköpostilla osoitteeseen adayinhelsinki@gmail.com ja tapahtuman järjestäjät lisäävät kuvat tapahtuman blogiin osoitteeseen adayinhelsinki.blogspot.com. Kuvat pitää olla jpg-muodossa ja ne pitää nimetä kuvaajan nimellä ja lisätä perään tieto siitä, onko kuvannut yleisesti Helsinkiä vai ehdotettuja aiheita. Esim. Ronja_Ryövärintytär_Helsinki_1.jpg tai Ronja_Ryövärintytär_rakkaus.jpg. Mainitsethan myös, millaisella kameralla olet kuvat ottanut. Meillä ei ole mahdollisuutta käsitellä kuvia, mutta voit halutessasi käsitellä niitä vapaasti itse.
Välitapaaminen klo 15:00 Karhupuistossa (osoite Viides linja, Kallion kirjaston vieressä). Jutellaan päivän
sujumisesta ja vaihdetaan ajatuksia. Tarjolla mehua ja keksejä.
Helsingin tapahtumia tänään: Ravintolapäivä, Kallio Kukkii -kaupunkifestivaali, Käpylän Kyläjuhla, Puuvallilan perinteinen pihakirppis, Zombie Walk klo 18:00 Narinkkatorilla.

The aim is to take 24 shots, the amount of frames in the traditional film roll. We gather in the Kiasma square where participants receive directions and changing themes. You can choose the one you like most out of the themes or then you can just freely shoot Helsinki.
From the Kiasma square people head to their desired locations, be it the centre of the city, the suburbs, indoors, outdoors – anywhere is fine as long as it’s in Helsinki, to capture interesting details or views of Helsinki and most of all the atmosphere. The photos can help you to express to others what are the most important things to you about Helsinki and to bring forth places and everyday experiences that may be overlooked in the hurry of the city life.
You can spend as much time on the marathon as you like. After the marathon the participants send their pictures by email to adayinhelsinki@gmail.com and the event organizers add the photos to the event’s blog at adayinhelsinki.blogspot.com. The pictures have to be in jpg format. You have to name the pictures with the photographer’s name and after that add info about whether you’ve shot Helsinki in general or followed the given themes. For example John_Doe_Helsinki_1.jpg or
John_Doe_love.jpg. Also tell us in the mail what kind of camera you shoot the pictures with. We don’t have the
resources to do any photo editing but you can freely manipulate your pictures if you like.
Meeting at 3 pm at Karhupuisto (address: Viides linja, next to the Kallio library). Exchange of thoughts about the marathon. Free juice and bisquits.
Events in Helsinki today: Restaurant Day, Kallio Kukkii festival, Käpylä Village festival, Vallila's traditional yardsale, Zombie Walk at 6 pm at Narinkkatori, Kamppi.

A Day In The World
Tällaisen näin hesarin nettisivuilla vasta tänään! Eli huomenna valokuvataan myös :) Ei liitytä toisiimme mitenkään, mutta olemme selvästi samanmielisiä tapahtumia. Itse aion ainakin osallistua.
Muistakaa toki myös lauantainen häpeninkimme Kallio Kukkii -festareilla! Helsinki on täynnä elämää, Käpylässäkin taitaa olla kyläjuhlat, ja Ravintolapäivä kaunistaa myös kaupunkiamme. Kamera vaan olalle ja mukaan päivän vilskeeseen, mikä sen vaivattomampaa!

Maraton II - 19.5.2012 Kallio Kukkii -festival
Jipii, järjestämme toisen A Day in HELSINKI -maratonin 19.5. osana Kallio Kukkii -festivaalia. Tapaamme klo 12 Kallion kirjaston edessä, missä osallistujat saavat kaiken tarvittavan informaation. Ohjeet ilmestyvät myös blogiin samoin kuin viimeksi, mutta olisi hauskaa nähdä paikan päällä mahdollisimman paljon kuvaajia! Tällä kertaa pääpaino on Kalliossa ja lähialueissa festivaalin hengen mukaisesti.
Päivitämme tietoja sitä mukaa kun päivitettävää on, toivottavasti sää suosii ja osallistujia riittää!

The date for the second A Day in HELSINKI -marathon is now decided, it's 19th of May. We're teaming up with Kallio Kukkii -festival, so the emphasis of the day will be in Kallio and the surrounding neighborhood. We'll meet at noon in front of the Kallio library, where all the necessary information will be handed out. The info will be posted on the blog as well, but we hope to see lots of you photographers in the meet as well.
Updates will follow as soon as there is anything new to tell. Let's hope it's going to be a pictoresque day and we'll have loads of happy snappers!
